Waist Cincher Corset - A must!

Have you ever thought about having a corset, but never done anything about it? Yes. Well this type of corset is a good starting point if you haven't had one before. The waist cincher or waspie as poeple like to call it is  a very flexible little number. Mainly because you can use it with just about anything. Lots of people who have one can use the same waist cincher many times over day after day and create a completely different look each time. They don't have to be hidden all the time you know. Plus with a waist cincher you can achieve the most movement out of all the corsets as it's the smallest. A great one to ease you in the art of corsetting.
Waist Cincher Corset from Corsets Ireland
You can see from the picture that the coset is only covering the waist area and only pulling in the stomach. But the effect creates an all over look to her. It has defined her shape as a very curvy creature. Don't you think? You can easily create a similar effect if you wore it with a t-shirt and jeans.
The waist cincher corset can be a handy thing to have. For one thing as its smaller than its counter parts you do not have the masses of laces to deal with. Yes there is always some on real steel boned corsets, you will be thankfull for them if you do not maintain your waist size permanently. Most people are not that obsessive so it allows for some give and take. My suggestion to you is to get one to get used to the idea of corsetting and then move up to the overbust styles or ones that require a little more dedication.

Times have changed

Thought it's about time I got onto this again. A lot has happened since I last rambled on here. We no longer have the shop. Alas it was an unfortunate sign of the times. It could not sustain itself despite all the willing in the world. A real shame. We had many people attend the shop whilst it was open, mainly from afar I might add. I would like to thank all of them who came and supported our business. BUT all is not lost we are still running the website and still plugging away despite the slum. You all know who is to blame for that so there is no point going on about it.

In recent times we have changed a few suppliers due to their management decisions which meant it was no longer viable for us to continue with them. We are still however always on the lookout for more new suppliers who would like to be a part of our collective and not forgetting any individual who would like to showcase their corsets with us. We want to hear from you.

We are currently supplying corsets from Revanche de la Femme. An amazing corsetiere with brilliant designs to entice everyone into getting one. Hint hint. One of my favourites is

Improvements Needed

As I am standing in our boutique I would like to know what can make it more enticing for people to come in and have a browse. We have a good customer flow but I want to make it better. If you have a sensible idea please reply to this blog. As opinions count in this industry - retail - I want to know your feedback. I have been discussing many ideas about how to change the layout of the shop, whether its better to have a bunch of rails in the store for customers to look through or to have more fixed attachments on the walls. Should I put wood down on the floor to cover up the old carpet thats in here? Do people really care what's on the floor of a shop? How about more complimentary clothing to show that corsets are not just underwear? Hmmmm......
Skirts I think is a definate must as they work so well with a corset and can make them more versatile than just underwear. An unlimited budget would be handy but that just ain't gonna happen. Back to reality. Something sensible and beneficial.

Cheap Commercial - What recession?

Been trying to rent a commercial property in town recently and so far have found that it is harder than pulling teeth. I am constantly being told that properties are "a dime a dozen" in Dublin and the landlord will kit the place out for you and even give up to 18 months rent free. Just to get you in the door so they can have someone in it to breath a bit of life into the area. Over here in the west coast its a completely different story. They have been stubbornly denying any sort of recession going on for the last two years and now that many of the shops are closing down due to high rents and lets not forget the high rates, they are still turning a blind eye to what is happening around them and shame on you if you dare make an enquiry about an empty premises.
It makes no difference if the property has been vacated for two years or more, the landlords around here still want maximum rent, dreaming of the hay day when money was no object. And hell and damnation to you if you dare to fund the start up yourself and not put yourself into massive hock just to be able to give them their exorbitant deposits and rental up front. If you dare to even ask for a rent free period like they do in the capital then you just get the door slammed in your face. The estate agents are just as bad, I believe they are all in cahoots together to keep the prices artificially high and pass the message around that there are savvy people about town who do not want to pay the ridiculous prices so don't entertain them.
If you are a sensible person and do not want to splash the cash then you are out of luck. Keeping your costs down to a minimum to keep your monthly expenditures low to enable you to open and survive this recession just does not seem to be an acceptable option around here. Wake up and smell the coffee people. The town is going to be empty before long and will become a ghost town having the odd novelty shop and supermarket.
Only one option left and that is to try another town and hope that the landlords are a bit more savvy and aware of what is going on in this country. It's better to have a shop let for something at least and looked after than letting it run itself into the ground just because you are too stubborn to see sense.

Corsets for Christmas

Well, it's coming around to that time of year again. The dreaded Christmas present hunting season. For many of us it's a time of year we rather not have to deal with as we are always stuck with the same question. "What do you get for a person who seems to have everything?" Well, everyone has done the nice underwear or pyjamas bought from a high street clothing store. That's getting a bit samey now. Something a little different that could stand you out from the crowd would be to buy a corset. Yes I know you may think that's a little old fashioned and went out with the Victorians, but you would be surprised. If you have not noticed already that they have been appearing in music videos and on models at catwalk shows and even on regular people out and about in town. And that hasn't just been on the women, men have been wearing them too.
As you can see corsets are not a thing of the past but a necessary item of clothing for the future. They are the hidden jewel in every woman's wardrobe. Corsets are not just bedroom wear, though they are very effective at that, they can be just as flexible as any other item of clothing in your wardrobe. Want to wear them with a suit - no problem! You can even easily change out of the suit and put on a skirt and a shawl and you are ready to go out in the evening.
There are plenty to choose from whether it is for yourself or for someone special in your life. Just make sure you know the correct measurements, as you know the worst present of all is one that does not fit. We at Corsets Ireland are here to help you get the one you need.
Let us know all of your details so that we can help you, if needed, to get the right corset for you. Have in mind what you want to use the corset for and how long you would like to wear the corset each time and we can help in selecting a suitable corset, not only to match your needs but also your budget. At the end of the day if you cannot decide what to get for that special someone there is always the gift certificates, which can double up as a payment plan.
